Inventory & Warehouse Manager

Luxury Garage Sale (“LGS”) is looking for an organized, efficiency-oriented Inventory & Warehouse Manager to join our team. The role focuses on planning and directing our warehouse to ensure all incoming and outgoing products are handled in a cost effective and efficient way, while ensuring the needs of our clients are being met and our inventory team is operating optimally with a high degree of accuracy.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Solid experience with developing & advising on inventory control/management policies to minimize loss, maximize efficiency
  • Identify system improvements, and resolve any problems
  • Maintain warehouse inventory and supplies
  • Cross check live inventory versus systems inventory, document and fix discrepancies, coordinate and conduct physical inventory counts
  • Monitor and manage warehouse capacity as needed
  • Experience with the implementation and on-going management of a barcode scanning system strongly preferred
  • Experience managing a quickly growing team which promotes productivity and creativity through:
    • Ensuring good training and orientation programs are implemented and followed
    • Leading team meetings, facilitate problem solving using creative and innovative ideas
    • Coaching team and taking disciplinary action when needed
    • Manage employee schedules and employee concerns and issues
    • Controls team costs by monitoring hours of employees
    • Ensure a safe work environment in warehouse by enforcing, educating and coaching employees on safety and cleanliness standards
    • Keep equipment in good and safe working order
  • Ability to actively investigate market trends and conditions in warehouse operations and layouts, new products and services which may impact company operations
  • Set up and implement procedures for the handling of incoming goods and outgoing products to assure distribution systems are cost effective and meet customer needs while maintaining optimum employee productivity
  • Ability to think about effective utilization of warehouse layout and space allocation
  • Interview suppliers with the intent of improving service from existing suppliers, or the development of new sources of supply from new supplier candidates. Work to improve and correct problem areas.
  • Make recommendations on procedures, internal practices, and systems which alleviate present problems or which will enable the department to better carry out its purchasing functions
  • Work with shipping carriers as needed
  • Other special projects as needed
